Heterogeneous classroom social climate in kindergarten

The bachelor thesis is aimed to describe the social climate in a heterogeneous classroom in kindergarten with elements Montessori Method of teaching. The work consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part presents theoretical knowledge in the field of developmental psychology, with regard to preschool age, preschool education in heterogeneous class, elements of Montessori Method and social climate in the classroom. In the practical part, the survey examines and describes the social climate in a heterogeneous class as a small social group through a qualitative approach, especially observation and interview with classroom teachers and parents of sibling couples.
Use of Montessori Teaching Method in Primary School

The thesis is focused on the use of the Marie Montessori method at the second stage of the primary school. The first part explains the principles of Montessori education and training, including the introduction of appropriate didactic recommendations. There are mentioned possibilities of project teaching and description of the cooking project that is the subject of the research. The aim of this work was to find out what changes pupils perceive after completing the annual cooking project. The results showed that pupils learned how to cook, work in a team and how to resolve conflicts. They started eating more vegetables. Cooking is fun. In the future, pupils want to choose whether or not to participate in the project.
Activating the Elderly with Dementia in Retirement Homes

The presented Bachelor's Thesis deals with the issue of activation of clients with dementia in retirement homes. It searches for the definition of the terms "senior" and "old age", traces the psychologic and physical changes associated with old age, explores the life of seniors in long-stay institutions, sketches out the recent demographic trends in the Czech Republic and adresses the term "ageism". The thesis then turns to the explanation of the term "dementia" along with its most frequent symptoms, types and causes including the commonly used methods of its diagnosis. The thesis includes a chapter dealing with the current social system of care for seniors in the Czech Republic, describing the most frequently used methods of activization with a special accent on clients with dementia, activating therapy and Montessori method. The last chapter of this work consists of author's personal experience with work in two long-stay institutions with three casual studies added as practical examples and illustrations of the issue and comparison of two elderly jouses and its' activation therapies.
